My Audacity to Hope
I cannot believe that I have been caught up in:
The audacity to hope,
For a better America.
The insanity to dream,
For our constitutional rights.
The ecstasy to think,
That America would become a peaceful superpower.
And the sadness to know,
That this was all a huge PR campaign.
Change, was a hopeful way of gift wrapping,
More of the same and worse.
I wrote this poem because I have been very disappointed with with what Obama has accomplished since he has been president. The health care bill does very little to make health care affordable and guaranteed for everyone Obama’s Health Care Bill Is Enough to Make You Sick and the health care bill was written by the former VP of Wellpoint Baucus Thanks Wellpoint VP Liz Fowler for Writing Health Care Bill
Obama will not hold Bush accountable for his crimes, he has extended the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest 2% which could cost our country as much as 4 trillion dollars according to Barack Obama gives way to Republicans over Bush tax cuts.
He has also extended the “anti-patriotic act” Obama seeks longer PATRIOT Act extension than Republicans and much much more anti the people on Main Street while helping to line the pockets of those on Wall Street.

And now, on July 16, 2011, he has once again caved in to Republicans (who are totally unfit to lead!) and Big Money by not appointing Elizabeth Warren to head up the Consumer Financial Bureau – the person most of America wants as that organization’s leader!
Really interesting this one. I meet her at the writers conference and she is a powerful and charismatic person.
